Make It Monday - Nanna cakes


Pluff Mud Kid Nanna can always be relied upon for a cupcake or, "bun" as she calls them. They are often impromptu; a quick offering to make with hungry grandchildren. The best part for kids is pushing their thumb in the center to make a well for jam before icing the top! Here is the basic recipe:

Ingredients:
  •  1 stick of butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 oz sugar
  • 4 oz self raising flour
Method:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together. Beat together one egg with half the flour and add gradually to the sugar and butter, then add the second beaten egg and flour. Mix well and pour into cupcake liners and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown (as seen above).

Next, gently press your thumb into the center of the cupcake and add a touch of jam with a teaspoon...
