2nd Sunday stroll and The Gibbes Museum of Art

This Sunday is the perfect chance to stroll along to The Gibbes Museum of Art and take in that amazing exhibition of Photography and the American Civil War featured here on the blog yesterday. 2nd Sunday on King St. is always beautiful at this time of year and the museum (located just around the corner on Meeting St.) is a perfect compliment before or after your stroll. On this special Sunday the Gibbes offers free admission to the public, so what better opportunity to throw a dose of downtown history into your day? My boys are still talking about this exhibition...

Now, if you have walked King St. and then spent some time absorbing the photography at the Gibbes, you and your little ones will be in need of a spot to kick back, relax, and talk about everything you have seen. After we viewed the exhibition, we were ravenous and needed to process all we had learned so we headed over to Eli's Table right next door to the Gibbes...

With children, I recommend the back courtyard for a cool glass of sweet tea. Let the Civil War conversation flow...

Enjoy the 2nd Sunday stroll, the Gibbes, and the experience of watching big minds grow just a little bigger.
