get ready for summer (Part II) - summer reading

Have you gathered your summer reads yet? If you're looking for something a little quirky that will make you laugh out loud, consider this collection of short stories by Blue Bicycle Book store owner and author Jonathan Sanchez. In bandit, the stories revolve around unique characters that have run our local Cooper River Bridge Run in some form or fashion and they are witty and thought provoking... my favorite was 'Charlie' (can't get it out of my head). Which one is yours? Pick up a copy at BBB and tell him PMK sent you! (more info on Blue Bicycle Books on last week's post)

For your little ones, check out Bats at the Beach, written and illustrated beautifully by Brian Lies (there are more in the series and you'll love Bats at the Library too)...

My third graders are currently latched onto The 13th Reality  by James Dashner...

For a light beach read, pick up the June issue out now of Charleston magazine for a great list of 30 day trips for summer...

Oh, and one more for Dad for Father's Day...

Want to support a great local book shop like Blue Bicycle Books? Check out my list of favorite little book nooks under the umbrella of Indie Bound Books and make a local difference...
