art and a park hunting challenge

Are your kids into art? Put your crayons and paints down and head downtown this weekend to see the artists on Marion Square:
Visual Arts: Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition
More than 80 SC artists including Mt. Pleasant artist Sheryl Stalnaker
Free, 10am-6pm this weekend
*weather permitting today. Yesterday, the artists closed up shop early in the afternoon to brace for the storm.

If you're looking for a great summer art class for your child, click here to learn more about artist Sheryl Stalnaker and her Mt. Pleasant art class for children. My boys really enjoyed this art camp and learned so much by painting and drawing indoors and outdoors.

While you're downtown through the month of June, take your camera along and take a journey through 6 great downtown parks. The Charleston Parks Conservancy is offering a fun challenge - make your way to each of the parks listed on the link provided here and take your picture at the specified landmark. Then, post your picture to the CPC Facebook page, twitter, or Instagram and you could win a prize pack! A great way to discover some new summer parks you may not be familiar with!
