flower bomb - what do you call that one, Nanna?

Sometimes, you don't have to go far beyond your garden gate to view Spring. This fella refused to budge off mine yesterday...

I finally treated myself to the orchid I've always wanted when the tag said "full shade" and it rests here on the back porch in the comfort of the complete lack of sun...

Growing up, my Nanna from England used to call every flower a "buttercup", so I didn't learn much about flower identification from her...

( Pluff Mud Kids in a sea of "buttercups" - Hyde Park, London England )

Nowadays, I rely on my mother to set the record straight when it comes to educating my boys on flowers in our beautiful home state...
