Sullivan's Island Park

Ever heard of 'nature deficit disorder'? The basic idea is that children are spending less and less time outdoors; it's as simple as that. Easy access to ever advancing technology, school PE and recess time cut backs, and community expansion resulting in loss of green space, are but a few of the culprits when we look at the changes in today's childhood. It's troubling, and one of the main reasons I started this blog. Yesterday, I posted about the upcoming Teddy Bear Picnic this weekend that focuses on bringing families together to enjoy outdoor time. You can read more about the inspiration behind the event in a great article here brought to you by Charleston Currents.
This week, Pluff Mud Kids brings you lots of parks we love. These are simple little parks that are easy to relax in with the whole family... there's something for children of all ages. A great week of parks to consider as we head toward Spring Break!

Bundle up in these chilly temperatures this week and swing over to Sullivan's Island Park...

There's a great playground for little ones...

a second more advanced playground for older children...

There are brand new tennis courts...

a great basketball court...

and that sought after green space if you need a quick winter nap in the sun! We love this park!
