palmetto park (part I) - play

*note on yesterday's post- an additional performance has been added through the CSO and Micah McLaurin. THIS FRIDAY, Jan 11th at 10am Open Dress Rehearsal at the Sottile Theatre downtown. $25 adults, $15 students. Friday and Saturday evening concerts sold out.

Have you been to Palmetto Park...lately? I always forget how much we love it. Big Toy playground   (pictured above) is one of the best in town. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables, water fountains, a dog fountain, restrooms, and vending machines for snacks, all within the circle of the playground making it easy to spend a few hours here. I also love it because you can see your children easily from all around the playground.

Adjacent to the playground is a huge, open field. It's a fantastic space for a ball, to learn to walk and run free; we even taught our boys to ride their bikes without training wheels in this field for a crash pad.

Sometimes you just need a wide open space to breathe deeply and feel energized!

Oh, and did I mention it's sorta gorgeous any time of the year? Thanks for this beautiful shot, Kylie!

It always makes me happy to see that this is a rich and thriving habitat for all sorts of wildlife thanks to our amazing parks and rec department. Enjoy!
