The Charm of Summerville (Part II)

We have a thing for libraries; the old, floor board creaking variety are the ones we're partial to. My boys caught my reading bug early on, so we find ourselves in libraries frequently. The Timrod Library in Summerville was love at first sight.

The library is named for Henry Timrod; Poet Laureate of the Confederacy. In 1897, a reading group banded together to work toward establishing this membership library and in 1908 they opened these doors to the public.

This beautiful, sunny children's area is hosting a story hour on Thursday, November 15th at 10:30am. There is also a book fair this Saturday from 10am-2pm.
