Continuity on Capers... and one last Eco Run!

A favorite Aunt of mine once asked me "don't you ever do anything adhoc?"

Hmmm, no. Not so much.

My battle cry with twins has always been to plan and prepare ahead as much as possible; trouble enough will unfold just by virtue of the fact they are two boys full of life and energy and I am a girly-girl trying to roll with the punches.
Continuity has long been one of my best defenses in the hard scrabble game of raising boys to men. 9 years on, we walk the walks, play in the parks and fields, and wander the trails that have been a continuous thread throughout their childhood. These Lowcountry places are a constant comfort to us. As a military brat, the idea of having been born and bred in one place is a novel idea. Where are the comfort places that you love to retrace again and again?

Capers Island, SC is a constant for us. Over and over again, it is always a perfect day out with children.

I bought the hat you see pictured here at Half Moon Outfitters in Mt. Pleasant, SC and I highly recommend it as a great all year hat for sun protection.

No boat? No problem. Check out the Barrier Island Eco Tours at www.nature-tours.com
There are no conveniences of any kind on the island, so pack food, drinks, and anything else you may need for a day trip.

You can also catch the last of a series of runs on the beach this Saturday, November 11th! It's a 10k and 5k beach run and walk and benefits the local hungry through 'Feed the Need'. Go to www.capersecorun.blogspot.com for more information.

Winston loves it here and dogs can be on and off lead if well supervised!
