Dune Buggy Park

This downtown Charleston park is one of our longtime favorites. It's true name is Hazel V. Parker playground. There are two areas to play providing something for kids of all ages. At age two, my boys loved the "dune buggy" and at age nine, they love the "spinning machine"...

Kid tested, Nanna approved!

There are lots of shady benches and a few picnic tables and a water fountain, but guard your picnic. This brave squirrel stole my son's cookie right out of our bag!

PMK tip- plan ahead... there are no restrooms near here. The closest public restroom is in the public parking garage on the corner of East Bay St. and Prioleau.
Parking: there are several options. There are a few spaces right in front of the park and if you score one of these, you are golden! There is a great metered parking lot just along East Bay St. at the corner of  S Adgers Wharf. There is a city parking garage at East Bay St. and Prioleau. Lastly, I often have luck with a 2 hour free spot along Concord St. by Waterfront Park.

Winston approves! Your dog must be on a lead, but there is a great dog run adjoining the park. Winston highly recommends this!
